Veteran’s Day Tribute
The U.S. Department of Defense is constantly searching for messages which resonate with service personnel and civilians alike. With the American Composer Aaron Copeland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man” we set a tone of somber reflection and sincere appreciation for all of our women and men who are around the world defending freedom and risking life doing it.
A cloth simulation for the ages, the US. Flag’s texture resolution for this reached 25,000 pixels wide and consisted of over 14 million polygons. You don’t have to be a computer person to understand that thing was big! The one and only Maya was used. Miraculously it didn’t try to subvert our deadline by crashing or refusing to do simple things along the way. Win!
